Hi, while I was logging into a new laptop for the first time, I created a Microsoft account but added the 2022 as the year of birth by mistake because I was in a hurry. The laptop now is a considered a child's laptop and everything is limited and needs permission.What is worse is that the laptop was meant to be used in my small business and thus I used a the company email for the Microsoft account. I searched for how to change the date of birth of course that's locked for me - the minor! but there is no way to do so from other posts I read here that faced the a similar issue. Eventually I de

Cannot change birth date at child account.

Hello

Once i did create an microsoft account for my child. Accidentally i did choose wrong year of birth so she is underage. i didnt care about it untill Microsoft do some changes in policy privacy(?) and since then she cannot play multiplayer in Minecraft. As she is visible as underage i cant change year of birth and unblock options in policy privacy(?).

Can someone knowledgeable help me solve the problem step by step or at least change the privacy policy in her account settings?

Change my date of birth on microsoft profile

To change the date of birth on your Microsoft Account, you can follow the steps below:

• Sign in to
  Your info on the Microsoft account website.
• Click Edit your personal info.
• Select the correct date of birth, and then select Save.

If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions that regulate what children can do online. You can check this

Cannot change Date Of Birth of an child account

Regarding to your information I assume that you want to change your child Date of Birth in his account.

Did you child more than 14 years old based on the date of birth on his account?

Did you see the "Edit this child's personal info."

If you can't see "Edit this child's personal info", it could be two situations.

1. They are no longer classed as a child.

2. They are above the statutory age in your country (normally 14 years old).

So, if your child is more than 14 years old he need change his account information by himself.

1. Sign in to Edit your profile using the credentials of the account you wish to update.

2. Change the information he want change and save it.
