Windows 10: chrome browser will not launch maximized

The past week my Chome will not launch as it should to maximum size I'm not talking about full screen which make the taskbar disappear just the regular maximum screen.I have read online to see how to remedy this but don't find anything useful.Do you know how I can fixt his? The maximize button on the top right is so far over to the right hand side under the frame of the screen so I can't even press on it.It opens as a rectangle in the upper right hand corner. I went to properties and it says maximize.Besides, I want it to launch as it should.THis happened after some windows updates but i do

Have you tried resetting your browser? If not, we suggest you to do so. To reset Edge, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Browser Settings.
  
• 
  Clear
  Browser Data.
  
• 
  Close the browser and launch it again.
  

If the issue persist, follow these other steps:

• 
  Go to
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click on
  MicrosoftedgeCP.exe
  
• 
  End the task.

Setting Chrome as my default browser - Windows 10

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

I would suggest you to try these steps to see if it resolves the issue.

• Go to Start > Settings > System.
• Choose Default apps, then scroll down to
  Web browser.
• Tap or click the browser that’s currently listed as your default, then choose Chrome from the list of apps

Unable to set Chrome as default browser in Windows 10.

Not sure why I started having problems with Chrome this week--it seemed to begin following the most recent Windows update--first Chrome didn't even want to launch but somehow that got resolved (or something I did resolved it). Then I couldn't get Chrome
to be accepted as the default browser--when I went to settings and selected Chrome as the default browser it wouldn't save my choice (same thing with IE and even Edge) but following Guru's steps suggested in his reply solved the problem! Chrome is now again
my default browser and I'm pleased! Thanks for solving this very annoying and baffling problem!
