  1. Chrome closed automatically after antivirus scan

Hello everyone, today i was doing an antivirus scan with Hitman Pro and after it ended i proceded with clearing the tracking cookies it warned me, and after clearing them, chrome closed itself automatically, and i wanted to know if this was normal or not. I did another scan with AdwCleaner and when i started the scan, it closed my chrome again. and after it cleaned my pc from some registry key they seem to be firewall related, it closed every app on my pc, including chrome, and when i started it again the popup “chrome crashed” appeared. i'm worried because last month i was victim of a pass

    :)

  2. can't close googel chrome ???

There is a setting in Google Chrome that allows it to continue running various tasks in the background after you have closed the browser window. If this is allowed in your Google Chrome settings, then it can indeed be running even when there is no visible
window. Personally, I don't allow Google Chrome to continue running in the background/ But that is for you to decide. To solve your immediate problem though, I suggest you turn off (don't allow) this option at least temporarily:

    1. Start Google Chrome. There should of course be a visible browser window.
    2. Access the Google Chrome menu by clicking on the three dots at the top right corner of the browser window (it's just below the standard Microsoft icons to minimize maximize and close the window).
    3. Select "Settings" from that menu. Some basic Google Chrome settings should be displayed in the browser.
    4. Go to the bottom of the "Basic Settings" page and click on "Advanced".
    5. Locate the "System" group within the "Advanced Settings". Its near the bottom of this second settings page.
    6. One of the "System" settings is "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed".

Turn this option OFF by sliding its little button to the left.
    7. Close the Google Chrome browser.
There should now be no complaints about Google Chrome still running when you think it isn't.

If you would like to re-enable this feature later, just follow the same 7 Step procedure above.

Of course to re-enable the feature, replace "Turn this option OFF" in Step 6 with "Turn this option
    ON
    ".

    I hope this helps.

Chrome closed automatically after antivirus scan

Chrome and Firefox browsers close, Edge unaffected

    Hi,

I am R. Cord, Independent Advisor.

I hope you are doing well.

have you done scan tests with some Anti malware of the malware bytes type?

It is a really strange situation affecting the 2 browsers

Even though you mentioned that you have already scanned your computer for viruses and malware, it's always a good idea to run a full malware scan using a reputable antivirus program. Some malware may be able to evade detection by certain antivirus programs, so using a different antivirus program may help to uncover any hidden threats.

so It's so hard to provide a workaround without a better investigation, let's star from some points.

Do you have an active firewall?

    Any third party antivirus software?

Have you tried to pause all antivirus protection temporarily to see if the case is solved and no more crashes occur?

Hardware Acceleration: Sometimes enabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings can cause issues with your computer's graphics card and lead to browser crashes. You can try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings to see if this resolves the issue.

Try Update or reinstall graphics card drivers

Run in cmd.exe "sfc /scannow" wait the progress.

    More tips for Chrome:

    Run Chrome in Compatibility Mode

Some programs may perform better in the earlier version of Windows, so you can also try running Google Chrome in compatibility mode when Google Chrome closes automatically on start Windows 10.

Step 1. Right-click Google Chrome, and choose Properties.

Step 2. In the Compatibility tab, check Run this program in compatibility mode for and click Apply & OK.

    Let me know if helps!
