Windows 10: chrome consuming 100% disk

    chrome consuming 100% disk


    At first, google chrome started consuming 100% disk, then gradually other softwares did the same. Had to do clean installation after consulting Customer Care. Now after a week, again chrome is doing that same issue. What is the solution for this?

    Windows 10- Ver 20H2

    Laptop- HP ac123tx

    high/100% disk usage

    I have two possibilities, both of which happened to me:

    • I had a hard drive that was failing. The tip was that the performance graph showed that the disk utilization would jump to 100% and stay there for a second, then fall back.
    • Something about Chrome was causing 100% disk utilization. I don't remember how I tumbled to that, but when I uninstalled Chrome the problem went away instantly. This seems unlikely, but it's worth a shot.

    Clean install, disk usage at 100%

    I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.

    100% disk usage on Windows 10

    I have been having 100% disk usage off and on for several months. I have tried all steps from every suggestion I can find and nothing resolves the issue. I finally reset to a fresh install of Windows (wiping out all of my files and programs). Here I am
    with nothing on this computer, two programs open (Task Manager and Chrome), bouncing between 22-100% disk usage. Please help! I'm at my wits end! I have a Intel Core i7-7500 CPU @ 2.75 GHz, 2tb hard drive and 16 GB RAM
