Windows 10: Chrome & Firefox crashing immediately after start on Windows 11

Tonight both Firefox and Chrome are suddenly crashing moments after I launch them. Chrome flashes the profile window beforehand and Firefox flashes some kind of error message that is only on the screen for a millisecond. I had been using Firefox 2 hours prior with no issues before it crashed on me. My second try was Chrome, which at first launched fine for a minute then crashed. Last effort, which I'm on now, is Edge, which appears to be working fine. This happened out of the blue tonight. I'm on Windows 11 Home 10.0, Build 22000 Any help is much appreciated

Windows 10 - Chrome and firefox are not working

This helped me with Chrome but not with Firefox.

I opened Control Panel>Troubleshooting>Programs>Advanced, Run as Administrator and then went through the steps. My problem was the Chrome wouldn't start at all, so I went through the steps and it asks what program you're having problems with, I chose Google
Chrome, it'll go through a short diagnostic and then give you the option of Troubleshoot Program & then it gives a list of problems. I chose the first one: This program worked in earlier versions.... then click next, I clicked Windows 7, then next and it did
it's little fix. I tested and Chrome opened up just fine.

No such luck for Firefox, though.

 

Flash crashing in Firefox and Chrome /Windows 10


On Chrome nothing happens. Media loads but doesn't play.
On Firefox it says Flash has crashed. I tried to disable the protected mode as Firefox Support suggests.

My Windows 10 is quite buggy.

 

Firefox crashes non-stop!!!

I have went back to Firefox 3.6 for this reason.

With the newer Firefox releases, I would find that it would crash and cause my whole system to hang and the only way I could recover from it would be to boot Windows 7 in safe mode, uninstall and then reinstall Firefox.....but bollox to that every 1-2 days.
