Windows 10: Chrome freezes after my screen turns off

[COLOR=rgba0, 0, 0, 1]In my power & sleep settings I have it where my screen willturn off after a time and I enjoy using that feature. But recently afterit does the tab I have open in chrome freezes - clicking does nothing and itwon't let me scroll. Clicking into another tab fixes this, but its really,really annoying as I often step away from my computer hence why I have thescreen set to turn off. [/COLOR]


[COLOR=rgba0, 0, 0, 1]I’m not a tech person but I've made sure both chrome and windows10 are fully updated and have tried restarting my computer. My mom isalso having this same issue on her computer. We both prefer Chrome as our browser, so please don’t recommend changingbrowsers, thanks. And if this isn’t the righttopic or website I should be asking this question, please direct me to thecorrect place.[/COLOR]

Chrome keeps freezing on Windows 10

There may be a few reasons why your Google Chrome keeps on freezing. One reason is the browser that you're using. For us to further isolate your concern, we need you to answer the following:

• Is this happening on other browsers as well (e.g. Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox)?
• Does the issue persist only on a specific website or it occurs on all websites?

Let us know if you're still getting the same error after performing our suggested troubleshooting step so we can assist further.

 

Windows 10 freezes randomly

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin

I had tried that as well... no result.

Andre, thanks for your suggestions. I performed all steps as you listed and it appears that there were

some problems that have been corrected. I will let you know in a day or so if the "freeze" problem

occurs again. Many thanks for your help --- this took longer than I expected!
