    Chrome Messages and "Dings" virus?

At least that solved it. I have Disk Defrag Pro installed with no problems.

Many people pointed out that only ESET blocked the file with Potentially Unwanted Software protection enabled, which is basically toolbars and things like that. The file that it is detecting must be for OpenCandy or whatever software they use to offer people optional programs.

It is possible that while were installing Auslogics Disk Defrag, accidentally installed some adware or something.

  2. i like auslogics disk defrag.
through installing the free version, i see no options for ad stuff.
what's the difference between that and the pro version?

If 're asking about the installers, the Pro version does not have the optional software.
About the features, the only differences according to the page are:

    • Boot-Time System File Defragmentation Technology
    • Optimization Algorithm that Speeds Up Access to Frequently Used Files
    • Optimization Algorithm that Slows Down File Fragmentation
Boot time defragmentation defragments files that can't be moved while Windows is running by defragging the disk before boot. Normal defrag is usually enough, but could maximize performance by doing this.

The Windows Prefetch makes programs and files load faster. It's like a cache for Windows. Optimization Algorithm that Speeds Up Access to Frequently Used Files refers to a feature that identifies frequently used programs by analyzing all of the files in the Prefetch and moves them to a faster part of the disk.

The last one might honestly just be nonsense to make the list look longer, or is referring a feature that puts pictures, videos, etc. at slower parts of the disk and programs at faster parts of the disk, although it's too vague to give a clear answer about.

Pretty much every defrag software has those functions, it just puts all files to the beginning of the disc.
As for boot-defrag, if the software runs from HDD, it is not boot-defrag, it has to be run from USB/DVD.

Certain defragmenters can do a boot-time defrag from HD. Its purpose is to defrag some files locked by the system (paging file, registry and so on). Some commercial defragmenters are even able to dig deeper into the filesystem and can defrag certain internal system files like the master file table ($MFT).

  6. its a script on that site you visited. It automatically pops up and says you are infected by something but actually you are not, best ignore those warning and avoid visiting sites with pop ups like that. see this?probably the site 1lrl.com pops out from another site. I tried visiting 1lrl.com and showed me a directory, I click on the 360secure and the warning popped out. It's their trick to fool you to download their pups

  7. i have a C drive ssd. I'll only be defragging my spinning data drive, so i don't think there's a need for those boot options.

it was occuring on multiple different sites that are safe. even on my tenforums tab. it was certainly not the site.

I used the "free" version for a while, and i appreciated the "defrag and optimize" option. The thing would defrag, and then take files and move them as high on the platter as possible to make faster read. Is this in the Pro version too?
