Windows 10: chrome screen went completely black after coming out of sleep. had used it ten minutes earlier

chrome went completely black. I tried turning off the hardware acceleration and then disabled any extensions. I only use one, ad block. the others were off. Then I relaunched after each of these two attempts but chrome home page still comes up black. I have HP laptop windows 10.


Should I use restore setting to their original? I don't want to try that until I hear back from the forum. The only thing that happened when screen went black Is that a pop up told me the ad plus blocker had crashed but it is not turned off. Thank you

Compaq Presario CQ62 Black Screen After 2 minutes or Less

You see a black screen after two minutes of inactivity. Are you sure the computer is going to sleep or is a screen saver coming on?

Right click on your start button and select Control Panel. When the Control Panel opens, in the upper right hand corner is a search box. Type screen saver. When you type, suggestions will come up in the window. Change screen saver will be at the top
of the list. Click on that.

Do you see a blank screen saver set to go on after one minute?

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
