  1. Chrome will mark all sites running on HTTP encryption as "not secure" in the address bar

Google will release version 68 of Chrome in July this year following which Chrome will mark all sites running on HTTP encryption as "not secure" in the address bar. Also, the HTTP sites accessed in the Incognito mode will continue showing the "not secure" label.

The company will eventually roll out Chrome version 69 in September this year and Chrome will show a grey lock in the Omnibar instead of a green "secure" label and lock for the website supporting its HTTPS encryption. In time, the company will completely remove the security indicators from Chrome. "Users should expect that the web is safe by default, and they'll be warned when there's an issue. Since we'll soon start marking all HTTP pages as "not secure", we'll step towards removing Chrome's positive security indicators so that the default unmarked state is secure," Emily Schechter, Project Manager, Chrome Security wrote in a blog.

I know that this is relatively old news but nobody likes change : ) Is this a big nothing and not to get my thrusters in a bunch? I do like looking at that green lock icon though. Any Chrome addons that will restore the green lock or should I just set it and forget it. On another note I use Incognito mode whenever I use a public computer and according to the blurb above Incognito mode never did show the green lock icon. Well, that's disturbing.

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Lock Icon

I am having issues being able to paste files into a folder that has a lock icon on it. I am not the owner of the folder, my boss is. I am using Windows Pro 10 and my boss is using Windows 8.1. I can open files contained within the folder but cannot paste files into the folder. I have opened properties and gone to the security tab and I am listed within the Group or user names list and my permissions are all at allow. Any suggestions?
