    Chrome x64 and Build 10525

Anybody else having problems running Chrome 64-bit on build 10525? Runs fine on 10240, but does a crash-and-burn on 10525. Get the "He's dead, Jim" screen. Uninstalled, re-installed, several times. 32-bit runs fine. Very strange....

  2. Microsoft Edge not working!!!

your problem is chrome. I have read some where that chrome did not use the microsoft tool for memory when they did their browser and they have memory issue on their browser. making it to not work on windows 10. seams they put a patch on the chrome browser
but it does not mean that they have fix everything.

Google is aware of Chrome issue in Windows 10 build 10525, but there's a temporary fix | On MSFT

Google releases fix for 64-bit Chrome bug in Windows 10 build 10525 | On MSFT

    Since the release of
    Windows 10 Insider build 10525
, Windows and Chrome forums have populated with complaints of the 64-bit version hanging and or crashing when in use. Similar to the YouTube for Windows Phone situation, the Chrome team attempted
to develop around Microsoft’s APIs for Windows 10, rather than using the costly official tools for Microsoft’s 64-bit systems. Understandably, the Chrome team chose to find a solution that did not cost $9,995 (the cost of Microsoft’s 64-bit tools) to implement.
Unfortunately, for the Chrome team, without the official tools, the beta version of the Chrome browser fell victim to

the new way Windows 10 manages memory
    .

Paul, you are correct. Unfortunately, you drop security in the process. I'll stay with the x86 till they iron out the wrinkles.....

  7. I had an issue with Chrome updating a while back on a preview build.

Seems as though it's back ... just tried to update from
    Version 44.0.2403.130 m

    and got this
Update failed (error: 4)An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 4: 0x80070005 -- system level).

I'm fairly certain that is the same error I was getting before.
I had to reinstall Chrome then ... I'm trying it now from here:
    Chrome

edit: The manual re-install fixed my update issue on 10.0.525
    Version 44.0.2403.157 m
Google Chrome is up to date.

I also reported it to Google on both occasions - we'll see what happens the next build *Wink
