    Chromecast users - possible security leak

    Hi there.

    while I love the chromecast thingy there's a possible security leak - especially if you don't use the new Ethernet connector. The Chromecast will present itself in a WIFI broadcast map allowing possibly an unauthorized user to logon to your WIFI network.

    The danger only exists if you have to restart the device or while you are setting it up but beware and ensure your Router has all the logs enabled etc.

    Chromecast for the price is a really good device but do check the security implications.

    Cheers
    jimbo

    :)

    I was running a system analyzer using Webroot Security Complete on OS Windows 10, I got the following message;

    An active process has a possible handle leak. (wrsa.exe)

    Question is , what does it mean?

    Jimbo, Thanks for information.
    This is just what I need. My friend just bought a Chromecast. We will get together in two to three weeks to test this out!
