Windows 10: chromium refuses to stop trying to install itself

ever since about 2 weeks ago I would get a command prompt at least once a day saying something about chromium getting denied access followed by a pop up about an available update I hit ok the first time and chromium along with internet explorer popped up on my desktop I've had both of these before and I specific didn't like it when chromium was on my computer in the past so I went to uninstall it and I thought it was gone a few hours later the same pop ups came up I pressed ok and the apps came back so I looked it up and like everyone said I deleted the folder and app the next day comes and I get the prompt again I continued to uninstall it but now there is no folder and control panel refuses to uninstall the app it's not running I've checked and I can't find a trace of it anywhere but the prompt still continues to pop up my windows security says everything's fine but every time I get the prompt I have to uninstall and reinstall my chrome that because it refuses to open after I get the prompt

followed the steps you have posted here and was doin' great until the very last step. opened my C: drive but no Chromium folder listed. any other suggestions? really want Chromium off my system as it's a pain in the butt!!!!
