Windows 10: Class not registered

I got this solution:

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, select Task Manager.


2. From the File menu, select Run new task.


3. Put a check mark next to Create this task with administrative privileges and tap or click OK.


4. Type cmd and hit Enter.


5. Type the following commands in same order in the Command prompt window:


a. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

This command scans and verifies the integrity of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct versions.


b. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and press Enter.

c. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and press Enter.

d. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter.

These commands fix any files that System File Checker can't repair and Windows corruption errors.


e. Type powershell and press Enter.

f. Copy the below Powershell script and hit Enter.

Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle % {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode $_.installlocation + "\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml"}

This Powershell script can fix the issue by re-registering the package.


6. Close the command window.


When I typed: Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle % {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode $_.installlocation + "\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml"}


I received this:

'Get-appxpackage' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.


What to do now?

The error Class Not Registered may affect many applications. It can be due to changed changes on the Default apps. We'd like to ask the following to help us out on this:

• Can you elaborate the troubleshooting steps that you've done so far?
• Are you able to tell us when did this happened and how long is this ongoing?
• Were there any newly installed applications or updates applied on the device?
• Do you have another user account we can use on your device?

class not registered

Neither Edge or the start menu will load on my computer. It just comes up with X class not registered.

Any suggestions?
