Windows 10: Clean install of Windows 8.1

I know this isn't the EightForums but I've not logged on there for some time now.

I need to clean install Windows 8.1 and having trouble finding an up-to-date guide. At the beginning of this year I followed this guide which worked nicely but it appears it is no longer working.

Any one know of a current guide to follow?

Basically I was given a Windows 8 key by a friend who had an MSDNAA account (he doesn't have that account any more). I guess I could do the 8-8.1 upgrade route but I'd rather do a clean 8.1 install.

You clean install Windows 8.1 disc on your pc. When you delete all partition in clean install that removes Windows 10 OS.

And when you get your re-installed W 8.1 updated and activated, you can do the
upgrade to Windows 10 rather than clean install.

 

Cannot connect to a projector after Creators Update

Would you recommend a clean installation of Windows to solve this problem? If my laptop was originally on Windows 8.1 then upgraded to 10 and I did clean installation will I go back to 8.1?

Yes it appears that the clean install trick doesn't work any more which is annoying. Ill have to do the long slog and install 8, clean that up then upgrade.

 

You can still install 8.1 with a generic 8.1 key and activate with an 8.0 key, if you have an 8.1 ISO. You just can't download 8.1 with an 8.0 key from that link I posted.
