    Clean Reinstall Mystery


    I decided it was time for a clean reinstall of Win10, the one that requires you to delete partitions. My previous data was on my G: drive, which was also deleted (and backed up to various locations first) The Win installation went according to plan, no issues. When I re-booted and signed into my microsoft account, low and behold my background images were there, slideshow working as before. Those images were previously on the G: drive. How? I don't use OneDrive. Aside from these, there are no artifacts from the previous installation.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
