Windows 10: Clean wipe and reset of HP Pavilion g7-1260us laptop originally shipped with Win7, won't...

Handmedown pair of HP Pavilion g7 laptops. As in the title, it originally shipped with Win7, so after a partial teardown to remove dust and verify airflow, I dispensed with the recovery partition and performed a clean-wipe install of Windows 10.

The BIOS was several dozen versions behind, so I flashed it to the latest with no hiccups or ill effects, but there are no options within the BIOS to enable or disable WLAN adaptor hardware -- bootup and BIOS-login password, system clock, enable-disable boot options, and boot-option ranking. That's it.

Device Manager seems to have recognized several (hidden) WAN Miniport devices, and remembers my USB dongle, but doesn't seem to recognize any wifi pathways to the internet when the dongle is disconnected (see http://imgur.com/gallery/iUsfDb8).

Yes, the laptop is old, but I recovered two seemingly identical units from my dad's home office. The units both perform, one has a fried CPU fan but still works otherwise (transplant-tested with a borrowed fan on hand) the HDDs both have life, and the RAM combines between the both to 8gb. This is ideal for knockaround spare laptop for professional-use digital presentations.

Why is Windows not recognizing the internal wifi card? HP Support offers drivers for Win7 and 8.1, which I've downloaded but am cautious to pin my hopes to. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Volume from speakers on HP laptop too low. Pavilion G7 1260us

Sound is too low frm speakers on my HP Pavilion G7 1260us laptop.

It has always been softer than I'd like but seems to have changed lower in volume some weeks or few months ago. I've run troubleshooter. The sound driver is September 4, 2019 in device manager.

Driver is 10.0.17763.737

Winver is 1809 (OS Build 17763.805)

I have another laptop a G6 and its sound is substantially louder.

I've checked all the places videos and posts on the internet have suggested.

I have not deleted the sound device in device manager and let it reinstall.

 

Overclocking HP Pavilion G7 with I3-2330M processor overclocking?

*Cool i have a new hp pavilion g7. it has an i3-2330m processor. is it possible to unlock it to overclock a little. i heard something about a jumper inside on the mainboard that has to be switched. any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you!
