Windows 10: Cleaning out the old Intel drivers on Win 10 now running an AMD build

Several months ago I upgraded my rig from an old ASUS P9 board with Intel 3930k to a new ASUS board running AMD 3900X. After fixing a problem relating to defective RAM, my new system has been absolutely rock solid for over two months now. Not a single BSOD, *Smile which is more than I could say about my old Intel build.

So should I clean out the old Intel drivers, or just forget about them? *Think How do I identify the drivers to remove and how do I do that, other than just zapping them off the disk?

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could be because of the AMD drivers installed on the computer.

Since the Samsung SSD is working fine with the Microsoft AHCI driver, I suggest you to update the AMD driver and check if that helps. To update the AMD drivers follow the steps from the article

Update drivers in Windows 10.

If updating the drivers didn’t help, I suggest you to roll back the driver to previous build and check if that helps. To roll back the driver to previous build follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Device manager.
   
3. In Device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
   
4. Right click on AMD SATA Controller and select
   Properties.
   
5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
   
6. Restart the computer.

amd driver issue win 10

no I didn't ,I only upgraded win 10..which was automatic by the way.After I update win 10 with all drivers ,win 10 share 2gb memory for video graphics as intel driver uses and just show 128 mb dedicated although I had amd radeon 8670m as dedicated graphics
memory..

all the benchmarking softwares shows that radeon graphics is powering my device but actually intel driver was....

I tried disabling the amd driver which made no change...

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.
