  1. Cleaning up AppData

Is there a safe way of cleaning up %USERPROFILE%\AppData ?

There's a lot of orphaned files, I guess:

    # 1) take the list of AppData/*/* folders whose contents were not modified since the beginning of last year # 2) find their sizes # 3) display the summary size in Gigabytes PS ~> (gci (Join-Path $env:USERPROFILE AppData * *) -Directory | where lastwritetime -lt "01.01.2019" | %{ gci $_ -Recurse -File } | measure -sum length).Sum/1Gb 59,54112149216235

It's tempting to delete old junk and free 60 Gb of SSD space, but how do you know the folders truly are orphans and not the system/critical ones? I'm looking for safe criteria for deleting them.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
