Windows 10: Clear "Run" dialog entries?

Does anyone know to how definitively clear the "Run" dialog box of all entries? Example: I press Win+R, then type "c" by itself, and these entries appear: https://i.imgur.com/lveQOYR.png

Looking for a real way to clear them (but not disable them). The entries do NOT appear in the Registry (in that plain text anyway; maybe they're encrypted?). All tips that I've googled don't work. Anyone know the real answer? Thanks.

Need help to clear Run history.

However there were no such entries in the registry when I checked. So there was nothing there to clear. The "solution" posted by bro67 simply didn't work for me. I'm still looking for a solution.

I'm having problems with Windows 10 remembering recent files within the Run dialog.

For example, if I press Windows key + R, and type the letter C into the dialog box, I get a list of recent files as follows:-





I have gone to Control Panel, File Explorer Options, and clicked on the Clear button within the Privacy section. This had no effect (even after reboot etc).

I have also deleted the contents of the following registry key:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

This seemed to clear recently run programs (I am old school and often run programs from here), but recently accessed files were still listed. Again I rebooted just in case.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Need help to clear Run history.

There is no other solution other than you messed something up when you used the AVG guide. You may want to roll back to a System Restore point before you messed things up. The Registry is not needed to go in and make any changes for this area, because you can royally hose the system up when you start messing around in the Registry. That is why any tool that makes changes to the registry always tells you to make a backup of it. If you do not, it is not the fault of the software or those who wrote the code for it.
