Discus and support Clearing temp files from in Settings broke everything. in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; So my SSD was getting a tad full and I was poking around trying to free up some space.     Clearing temp files from in Settings broke everything.


    So my SSD was getting a tad full and I was poking around trying to free up some space. In Settings>System>Storage if you click Temp Files it says "Some temporary files are needed by apps. Below is a list of files you can remove now." Well, apparently there's a BIG difference between CAN remove and SHOULD remove.

    I've spent the last 3 hours reinstalling half my drivers and trying to figure out why various features in programs are broken and how to fix them. Best I can tell, a bunch of stuff stores long-term important data in folders that Win10 deems temporary so by clearing them you pretty much break LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

    Wifi driver, video driver, uBlock Origin, some Firefox features, Discord randomly crashes, I still haven't gotten my video editor to launch without crashing, good god was putting that setting in there a terrible idea. The hell was Microsoft thinking?

    I have option to clear temp files....but i m unsure whether it deletes such traces....
