    Strange error developed recently.


    When I double-click a text file (which should open Notepad.exe), I get a "Not implemented" error. This only happens in sub-directories outside my desktop. If a file is on my desktop, it loads perfectly. If the file is in any sub-directory on my desktop or elsewhere, I get the error.


    I've tried unassociating Notepad and reassociating, but there's no change. In Notepad, I try to go to File>Open and manually load the file and I also get the error.


    I've tried associating with other programs (such as Notepad++, Word, Wordpad, etc.) and it works in every program. It's Notepad.exe which seems to be the issue.


    Does anyone have any insight? Why would Notepad.exe be weird about opening text files that exist in sub-directories outside of the desktop? It's driving me crazy Clicking .txt files (to load Notepad.exe) gives a "Not Implemented" error :)

    Drag and Drop txt to Notepad won't work


    Normally, if I have notepad open, I would be able to click and drag an appropriate file into notepad, like a txt file, and it would open in notepad. Now, when I click and drag files into notepad, nothing happens.
    Any Suggestions.

    How can I make Notepad++ default program for `.txt` files?

    Follow the below steps

    1. Right click any .txt file and click

    1. In the opened window click

    Notepad - Cant drag and drop to open txt
