Windows 10: clicks occur 5-6 lines lower than mouse cursor Windows 10 + MS Word 365

this just started after windows update KB50003637 6-9-21clicks on Word doc result in cursor and subsequent action 5-6 lines higher up in document than original "click"when clicking on line #6 in Word document, cursor is on line #1exact number of lines is dependent upon font sizeWorking on this web form is fine.I tried uninstalling & reinstalling on mouseI tried MS 365 online repairI tried old Word 2013 docsI tried on new Word 365 docs.same issueInteractive websites like this one work fine.

Does the issue persists only with Word?

There is a possibility that this issue might have occurred due to some incorrect settings in Word or corrupt system files or outdated mouse drivers.

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try running System Maintenance Troubleshooter to get the problem automatically detected and fixed. Please follow the steps given below.

Run inbuilt system maintenance troubleshooter and check if it works.

Since upgrading I am having issues with word, my mouse will select multiple lines on docs when left clicking, also when highlighting a word or trying to insert the cursor to edit or add a word the whole document will be highlighted and cannot be undone.
