Windows 10: Clipboard history pastes twice the same entry - a bug or am I missing sth?

When I open clipboard history win + V , then click on an entry, the entry is pasted twice! Like hereiscover Your Ikigai!Discover Your Ikigai!Discover Your Ikigai!Aw... I've just discovered THE CAUSE - it's because YOU CLICK TWICEStill, it might be considered a bug - rather not an advantage , because:1 I don't see a use for that unexpected double-paste and now it'll take some time to create a new habit2 Importantly, I could make costly errors in pasting links - which will not work if doubled-pasted. Now I have to check quite a lot of them!

In response to your comments:
1) Screenshot or text or file -- just text. Usuall a URL or, at most, a paragraph, <10 lines of text
2) Limited to 25 copied entries -- However, I will copy an item, be able to paste using CTRL + V but when I try WIN + V I get the message that the clipboard is empty (so <25 items)
3) Rule out CTRL key -- Issue is not CTRL key since I can copy/paste using CTRL+C/CTRL+V. Issue only appears when using clipboard history (WIN+V). I will have copied text and can paste it using CTRL+C/CTRL_V but clipboard history is either empty (error message from #1) or will not appear at all in the clipboard history even though history shows less than 4 items
Also, another issue is that, at times, the clipboard history will show ABCDEF but will past PQRST (something completely different than what is shown. Though it is something that was copied in the past)

Win10 has a newish feature "clipboard history" that you can invoke with WinKey-V. This brings up the clipboard history. So far so good. But, occasionally, the paste of the first (topmost, most recently copied) item fails to paste. Fails in all applications
where I try to paste (Notepad, Word, etc). Even CTRL-V fails to paste it.

Oddly enough, when the 1st item fails to paste and I paste the 2nd item on the history list, then the 2nd item pastes. Now if I Undo the 2nd paste, the 1st item does paste. Crazy.

Does somebody understand what is going on? Am I the only one?

Please do not recommend reinstall, /scannow and other BS.

How on earth can it be that anything that MS does, is broken so frequently?

Paste command not pasting most recent clipboard item

Hi, I'm working in Windows 10 and have a persistent problem with Copy + Paste. The problem is that the Paste command typically does not paste the most recent item from the clipboard, but rather pastes an item previously copied to the clipboard. So, for example,
I might go grab something from the web via CTRL + C, and then try to copy it into an email, only to find that the pasted material is something I previously copied, not the material I copied most recently. At that point I have to go back, re-copy the stuff
from the web, and try the paste command again. This works, but performing this sequence of steps twice most of the time is a pain in the...keyboard.

I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks.
