  1. CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT After Leaving PC for 5-10 Minutes

I've been getting this message for a while already. This happened not long after I moved (which was right at the end of last month), but not before then. I thought it was the Wi-Fi adapter driver, so I uninstalled its driver and downloaded a new one from the manufacturer's website to no avail. I ran Windbg, and it returned an inconclusive analysis.

Feel free to ask anything you need from me in order to solve this problem.

    PC restarts when idle

    Hi,

I have an ASUS ROG-GL752VW laptop with windows 10. I am facing this issue for the past two weeks and i believe that this issue began after a routine update. Whenever i leave my PC for 5 minutes ( i have set 5 minutes for the display to turn off) and the
display goes off, the PC restarts by itself. It doesn't happen when i am using it, I play games for 3-4 hours continuously and it runs fine. The problem occurs only when i leave it idle.

Is there someone having this problem and can guide me how to solve it ?

    Thanks !

Start pairing. After you enter the code, leave everything alone so as not to interrupt the data upload for around 5-10 minutes.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    • Uninstall Daemon Tools
    • Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

The 0x101(CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT) is mostly caused by BIOS or hardware problem, the challenge is to find software problems.
I suggest to update your BIOS.

  5. Thanks for replying, axe. I've tried what you suggested. I'll see how it goes.

I also cleaned the heatsink and fans in case that also had to do with the crash.
