Windows 10: cloning non-boot backup volume and File History

I have a non-boot volume on a separate internal drive (used to hold various backups) which is too small and I want to upgrade to a larger drive.

I have File History turned on in Windows 10 and the File History is stored on this separate, non-boot volume. I plan to use Macrium Reflect Free to do the cloning.

Do I need to turn off File History in Win 10 before doing the cloning? I don't intend to use the machine while the cloning process takes place, but I don't know if there will be some files that File History backs up without my active use of the computer. If I turn off File History, will I lose all the previous history (that is, does turning off File History delete the existing history or just "freeze it in place"?). Or, can I just keep File History on and go ahead with the cloning?

Replacing Windows 10 hard drive on PC

The hard drive on my Windows 10 PC is starting to make strange noises.

Would Windows 10 be de-activated if I replaced the hard drive on my PC with a cloned drive?
And what other issues are likely to arise?

What is the simplest way to clone a drive and is cloning a drive the same as a System Image Backup in File History?

After cloning it is essential that you boot the machine with only the cloned disk connected so that Windows can sort out the various volume identifiers.
