Windows 10: Close redundant File Explorer Windows when opening a new window

So i have a lot of programs that I use in my work where RMB > Reveal In File Explorer is something i use often. What this leads to very quickly over just a few hours of work is that I have 5 FE windows showing my downloads folder, 3 windows open to one project folder, 4 to another project folder, 2 to my pictures folder, and so on.

I would love to have the "Reveal In File Explorer" functions to simply focus an existing window instead, if the path it's opening is already open in an existing window.

Is this possible?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Close File Explorer Window

This code did list the Explorer windows, but I ran the "close" shell as Administrator with two Explorer windows open and it did not close either.

 

Windows Explorer Replacement?

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue
