Windows 10: Closed previous thread.. issues with windows update still not fixed at first "KB5031356"...

It appears that the previous update that failed to install, finally worked, however, now to another issue with another update "Kb5032189 " Giving the code "0x80242008" What is going on here ? is Microsoft looking into it ? apparently it's a fix for security issues, the many of us

Windows Update KB5031356 Question

I had a question regarding the update KB5031356. I have two Toshiba Dynabook A55-E laptops. They both are running Windows Home 10 64 bit. The only difference between these two laptops is whether the build is 19045.3570 or 19045.3448. Here are my results to date. One of these Dynabooks (call it Laptop A) is running 22H2 installed 12/4/21 as build 19045.3570. The installation update KB5031356 successfully installed on 11/10/23 without any issues and quite quickly. The other (call it Laptop B) is running 22H2 installed 26/7/20 as build 19045.3448. Several attempts to install KB5031356 have not been successful. The update stays at 20% installed for hours and hours and never completes. I therefore have paused windows updates on laptop B for the time being. I have run dism (checkhealth, scanhealth, and restorehealth) in addition to sfc /scannow and chkdisk on laptop B. All runs are successful. Before I attempt to try again to install KB5031356 on laptop B, I would like to know if anyone that may be running 19045.3448 has a successful install of this update. Any other comments/suggestions on this behaviour are also very welcome. Thanks.

 

Windows update issues

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

 

Windows Update keeps failing!

Hi,

I had once a similar issue like yours, i.e. not able to update Windows 7. What I did to solve the problems is:

- go to control panel, then to "Troubleshouting" > "System and Security" > "Fix problems with Windows update" > click "Advanced" > choose "Apply repairs automatically".

And Windows will start detecting the issues and will repair "Windows update components". The problems should be fixed now, close the program, restart the PC, and see if the mentioned steps have fixed the problems you mentioned.
