Windows 10: Closing lid shuts off one of my dual monitors- lid settings are set to do nothing- worked...

i know this has been asked about 5,000 times but i cannot seem to resolve the issue. My setup includes a windows 10 machine and two HDMI monitors connected via a docking station. when i close my laptop one of the monitors no longer receives a signal and goes black. I have had this setup in my office for 2 years and had worked fine and suddenly one day I cant close my laptop. I have checked the lid settings, they are still set to Do nothing for battery and plugin for all options. i have a power plan that is set to do nothing on all options. Monitor settings when close laptop lid

Hi,

I usually connect a secondary monitor to my laptop and close the lid. This worked fine until today. When I close the lid the monitor indicates that the source settings are higher than it can handle and it indicates me to change them to 1600x900 60Hz. However,
I can't do this since the lid is closed and I can't see what I'm doing.

This is only a problem for when the lid is closed, I can still use my secondary monitor as an extension of the laptop monitor.

Any idea on how to solve this?

My work ThinkPad laptop shuts down when closing lid, even with the "When I close the lid setting" set to "Do Nothing". I am using external monitor and I want to be able to just keep the laptop lid closed. What am I doing wrong?

 

Windows 10 lid settings problems

Howdy all,

I have two different windows 10 systems that are experiencing the same issue. I have set the lid setting to do nothing when the laptop lid closes so that the monitor display stays on and they can operate the laptop from the docking station below the monitor.

The setting works however after undocking and re-docking the laptop, it turns the monitor off when the lid shuts. When I check the settings it still has the "do nothing" settings selected. I have to change it to another option, save the settings and change
it back to "do nothing" for it to operate correctly.

Any suggestions?
