Windows 10: Closing Tabs at Shutdown

I followed al instructions on closing tabs at shutdown but nothing works. Ideas appreciated Thanks

When I downloaded Windows 10, it automatically made my internet browser, Edge. I have gone back to using Internet Explorer as my default browser and can now close one tab at a time. Thank you for your help.

Hi

If you are using IE11 on Windows 10 for PCs, it is still available. To turn the warning on:

1. Open IE11 (see:
How to find Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows 10 )

2. Press Alt + X on your keyboard to open
Tools.

3. Select Internet options.

4. On the General tab, select the button labelled Tabs
(about half-way down).

5. Tick the top box labelled Warn me when closing multiple tabs.

6. Select OK then OK again.

If you are using the new Edge browser then, as far as I know the feature is not available. If you want to send feedback to Microsoft about this then you may use the Windows Feedback app:

Start button (bottom left)->All apps->Windows Feedback

You can still close just one tab at a time if you wish in Edge...

Please click on the X on the tab not the window - see image below:



Each of the tabs has a X. It will appear as you move your mouse pointer over it.

Also, the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + w will close the currently selected tab.

If you close the last tab, then the entire Edge window will close.

 

Yeah...that depends on which browser you are using... *Smile

 

If you are using Firefox and have Tab Mix Plus as an extension you can choose to close all tabs, only certain tabs, or no tabs but until you tell us what Browser you are using it would be hard to say.

Did you opt in by check marking "Don't show this warning again"?

 

I don't get that message signing out

I don't remember if I opted in or not
