Cloud/One Drive File Copying/Removal of Files from my Local Hard Drive

How do I stop files on my local hard drive Documents folder from being automatically moved to my cloud storage where I can't access the files off line? Also the synching program is mindlessly making copies of documents already on my One Drive. How do I stop that and, related, is there a way to automatically remove duplicates from my One Drive. Right now gigabytes of storage are being used uselessly and manually removing duplicates will waste hours of my time. Thanks in advance.

    :)

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Stored files in Hard Drive

You can use Windows search. Just search for *.* on a desired drive. When list is done just arrange them by size LOL.

You can do it via command line as well and make an output text file showing files and their sizes (but without arrangement)

Copy Onedrive files to local hard drive

I was updating my windows 11 software when I ran into an error that bricked my system. I had to restore everything. I now want to copy all my files in onedrive to my PC hard drive. I like having a local copy as well as one in the cloud. Thank you
