  1. Cloud saves are overwriting my local saves

I am trying to copy a save from one computer (computer A), to another (computer B). The game in question is Resident Evil 7 (if it matters)

I've been able to locate the saves and copy them over to several friends computers (using the same version off the Microsoft Store), and all works fine for most people.

However, two people have run into an issue where, upon launching the game, their local saves are instantly overwritten with their cloud saves.

Is there some setting for Xbox Play Anywhere titles where cloud saves somehow prioritize over local saves? It's only happened to 2 people out of a test of about 10, so I'm assuming something just needs to be disabled.

Cloud saves are enabled on all 10 systems. What happens for most people, is those new saves end up getting uploaded to the cloud and can then be used on their Xbox One version, as well. I'm stumped in trying to figure out why this keeps happening to only a few people.

About half the people testing this out have an Xbox One, and the other half doesn't. One person this issue happens to doesn't even have an Xbox One...

    Any suggestions would be wonderful!

    :)

  3. Windows Store Cloud Saving?

I just want the easy way to backup the Save Files of Windows Store Games without doing the hard way. So, I don't have to start a new game all over again after got a new computer.

I know the Steam Version of Microsoft Games has Cloud Saving. I don't think Windows Store has Cloud Saving to backup Save Files.

I just want to know if Windows Store or Windows 10 have Cloud Saving to automatically backup the Save Files to Microsoft Account after playing Windows Store Games. (Just like Steam)

I know Windows 10 has OneDrive to backup data to Cloud Storage. But, I want to see if Microsoft have a feature to automatically backup the Save Files after playing Windows Store Games without backup the Save Files manually.

  4. Cloud saves are overwriting my local saves

Windows 10 Excel 2016 wont save files

    Hi Peter

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    • Are you able to save other files? What happens when you try to save any images from internet explorer?

As I understand that you are trying to use local account instead of Microsoft account and you don’t have permissions to save the files in any folder.

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key and type Settings.
    • Select Account.
    • Select your Account.
    • Click on Sign in with local account instead of Microsoft Account.
    • It will prompt for Microsoft Account Password.
    • Enter the password then you will be able to use Local account.

Note: If you are using local account then you will not be able to use many apps and cortana which requires Microsoft account to access.

Method 2: As you have mentioned that you don’t want to save the files in the cloud, when you save the file option you can browse it to the any location on the computer and save it.

For file permission issue follow the below command to provide the permission and check if it helps.

    takeown /f folder_name /r /d y

    icacls folder_name /grant username_or_usergroup:F /t /q

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.
