Windows 10: clsid 88866959-07b0-4ED8-8EF5-54BC7443D28C ask to make changes to my device???

I recently turned on my PC to discover that my Local Security Authority Protection turned off and it demanding to give permission to clsid 88866959-07b0-4ED8-8EF5-54BC7443D28C to make changes to my device. It states that the publisher is from Microsoft but I still don't trust it. Can someone please explain what it is and if I should provide it permission on to my device.

Defender, device security can't dismiss warning

I have the same problem ... I did the PowerShell and it didn,t solve the problem.

When I click on "Go to settings" from Windows security, a new window indicates page not available ! When I click on dismiss, I get a window about Windows Publisher certificate. Show more details gives CLSID 88866959-07B0-4ED8-8EF5-54BC7443D28C. Show more information about certificate publisher shows valid date from 2021-09-02 to 2022-09-01. So it seems this Windows certificate is no more valid.

Edit : I looked in regedit and this CLSID is Hardware Shield Broker.

 

Event ID 10016, CLSID and APPID

Hey, I've been trying to resolve this same dcom issue myself, and I followed the steps you listed @FreeBooter, but when I try to do the last step, I firstly when clicking "edit" get a message saying



And then when I do enter the menu after clicking "ok" on that dialog box, the add button is greyed out.

I'm 100% certain I followed all the steps correctly. I triple-checked it. But no dice...
