    Hi

    I have a Lenovo ideapad originally with preinstalled Windows 10 1803. While trying to upgrade to 1903 the operating system got corrupted and I subsequently restored from a USB supplied by Lenovo Customer Support. I eventually managed to upgrade to v1903 18362.388.


    I am no longer able to run cmd. When I am typing cmd in the search box it is offering to search on the web.

    I then tried Task Manager > File > Run New Task > Open > cmd

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
