Windows 10: CMOS setup utility disabled boot device

Greetings to the Windows 10 forum,

I'm having a problem that I cannot resolve and there is very little to no information about this specific issue that I can find.

About a week ago something corrupted my W10 system and I ended up in the blue screen where it presents you with all the options you have to remedy most of the situations that would occur.

I cycled through all of the available options short of reloading windows... which I don't think I would be able to do anyway given the condition that the system is presenting..

The computer I have is about 5 years old and I had somebody build it for me, to date it has operated flawlessly.

CMOS setup utility 1985 to 2005 American megatrends....

When I boot into the CMOS setup utility made by American megatrends the first thing I noticed was that it stated as copyright 1985 to 2005... which I thought didn't sync up with the age of the computer... maybe that's nothing unusual but I thought it was odd, there's no other information to identify what build of American megatrends software this is.

The CMOS setup utility presents the following options:

Standard CMOS features
Advanced bios features
Integrated peripherals and so forth.

When I go into Standard CMOS features

It shows my Sata 1, Sata 2 and 3 devices as not detected and in parentheses...

This is the key point here is that all items are in parentheses..

Next I go to Advanced bios features.》 Boot sequence

Again all items are listed and are in parentheses, 1st boot device, 2nd boot device, 3rd boot device..

And there's a note and the right panel which states the following:

Specifies the boot sequence from the available devices.

A device enclosed in parentheses has been disabled in the corresponding type menu.

I have not been able to find a way to enable any of my sata devices,

I have tried entering every possible script. There is through the command prompt, and of course that won't work because you cannot access any of these devices as they are disabled.

I've also tried to using a repair disk that doesn't work again because the device has been disabled..

Does anybody know of a way to enable these?...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A recent change in the configuration of your device can be one of the factors why this issue occurs. If you're unable to boot into your system, we recommend that you follow these step to check if this a hardware concern related to your hard drive or an incorrect
settings on the Aptio setup utility. Here's how:

• Select the Boot menu in the Aptio setup utility then choose
  "Launch CSM" and change it to enable.
• Select the Security menu in the Aptio setup utility then choose
  "Secure Boot Control" and change it to disable.
• Select Save & Exit and press
  "Yes".
• Press and hold the power button to completely turn off the device.
• Turn on the device and continually pressing the F9 key for about ten seconds.
  
• Select "Advanced Start Up" and wait until the recovery menu appears.
• Select "Advanced Options".
• Select "System Restore" and choose a specific date prior to the issue.

In the event that this information will not suffice, we suggest that you contact your device manufacturer to identify if this is a faulty device that needs to be replaced.

Stuck in the Aptio Setup Utility

I got the setup utility on startup and i tried following this instructions:

• Select the Boot menu in the Aptio setup utility, select 'Launch CSM' and change to enable.
• Select the Security menu n the Aptio setup utility, select 'secure Boot Control' and change to disable.
• Select Save & Exit and press 'yes'.
• Hold down the power button until the unit switches power off completely.
• Switch back on and continually press the F9 button for about ten seconds; this should now allow the unit to boot up into the Windows Recovery menu.
• Select 'Advanced Start Up' and wait until the recovery menu appears.
• Select ' Advanced Options'.
• Select 'System Restore' and select a date prior to when the problem occurred.

(but I wasn't able to do step #5-8)

It has something to do with the configuration of the PC as Aptio setup utility is developed by the manufacturer of your device. We suggest to visit the website of the manufacturer and look for work around as steps given did not work. They will
provide you alternative steps on how to fix the issue.
