Windows 10: code: 0x8007007f set up new pin

Saturday I restarted my pc and went to enter my pin and it said this. what do i do from here? the set up my pin button sends it back to the lock screen, same with the i forgot my pin button.

It sounds like you are unable to set-up a new PIN with an error code 0x8007007f. Sorry to hear this. And I understand your frustration. Kindly try the following solutions out and then check the result.

1. Locate to: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC >Delete all the contents of the NGC folder. [Note: You must be logged as Administrator to do this.] > Go to Settings > Sign-in Options > Click Add a PIN to enter a new PIN for your account.



2. If that does not work as well, try to create a new local administrator account and then confirm if the issue.

We weren’t able to set up yout PIN. You can try this again, or skip this step adn set up a new PIN later.
