Windows 10: Code 10 Error in Device Manager for Bluetooth after last update

After last updates: Feature update to Windows 10, version 21H1 and KB5007186 Bluetooth on my Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 stopped working with "This device cannot start. Code 10 STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE". Both WIFI and Bluetooth on one chip and WIFI works fine.On my Ubuntu 21.10 Bluetooth still works fine. I tried reinstalling drivers installing latest 22.80.1 drivers, tried Generic Bluetooth driver. Reinstalled driver for wifi too. Performed clean install from this Intel article also tried everything form this post, nothing helped. Rolled back windows update and reinstalled it again

Bluetooth driver error 10 when converted to Windows 10

Apologies for the late reply.

Error code 10 is a driver error, as you have already tried to install the drivers I would suggest you to un-install and re-install drivers and check.



Try the following steps:


Follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Select Bluetooth adapter, right click on it and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Restart the computer,
  
• 
  Now, install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Intel Wireless Bluetooth This device cannot start. (Code 10)

We appreciate your effort on this. We understand that you receive an error, The device cannot start (Code 10) for Intel Wireless Bluetooth.



As per the error Code 10 "This device cannot start. (Code 10)", we will need to update the drivers. However, as per the error message Code 22 "This device is disabled”. You will need to enable the device. For more information, see

Error codes in Device Manager in Windows.



We would like to know, if you were able to install the latest drivers for Intel Wireless Bluetooth. We would also like to know the make and model of the computer that you are using.



You may try updating the drivers through Device Manager and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Bluetooth.
   
3. Right click on the Bluetooth device and select
   Update Driver.
   
4. If you do not find Intel Wireless Bluetooth under
   Bluetooth, expand Network adapters and check.
   
5. Restart the computer.

No bluetooth after system restore

Thank you for your reply.

I mean I have used a Windows system restore point. I tried restoring bluetooth with commands in CMD (sfc/scannow; DISM /Online.....) and by updating and uninstalling devices in the device manager. Update did not work. Uninstalling bluetooth devices made Bluetooth disappear out of the hidden devices list.
All my steps I took worked but did not change anything in my bluetooth device list.

I am using the bluetooth of my mainboard. MSI Z370M Gaming Pro AC
My guess would be, that disabling the bluetooth network adapter before using a system restore point, disabled Bluetooth after using the system restore point.

In the device manager I get this message in the USB Device list for a unknown USB Device:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
