Windows 10: Code 39 Error After BSOD - Please Help!

Hello all, I have been trying my hardest to get my GPU working for the last two months. This is going to be a long text to give you full details, so I am sorry. I will tell what happened and what I have tried so far.


Before I begin, this is my system:

2x8 3000 MHz RAMs

A320-M-a Pro Motherboard

Nvidia GTX 1660 Armor Graphics Card

AMD Ryzen 3 3100 Processor

500W 80+ PSU

A 240GB SSD and a 1TB HDD


So, two months ago, I had been playing a game, The Witcher 3 to be exact, but abruptly the screen froze for a couple of seconds and the good old BSOD showed up. I didn't think it was something THAT serious, so I let it do its thing. It restarted itself, but unfortunately, it told me "It looks like Windows hasn't loaded correctly" under Recovery. I tried all the advanced repair options there but no luck. Then, I had decided to just format it, and I prepared my USB using my laptop. I encountered something really strange in the boot screen when formatting, some horizontal lines in my screen and the motherboard thing in the boot screen was not in the middle, but it was a little to the left and up, and it was smaller. Nonetheless, the process continued without any problem. I set up the basic information and stuff, installed Windows into my SSD, after it was done, I don't know if it's important but the resolution was 800x600, that got me thinking a little, I changed the resolution to normal, which is 1920x1080, then I started downloading drivers, starting with my GPU. However, in the process, I'm guessing when the monitor is turned off and on, my PC just restarts itself, telling me "Windows couldn't load correctly". I tried restoring and stuff. Then I formatted it again. The horizontal line and the motherboard thing being smaller and misplaced showed up again. This time, I formatted my HDD too, thinking that maybe some virus was the problem. After that, I tried installing Windows Updates first, it automatically downloaded the display drivers too, and when it was done, the same thing happens. I looked up to my graphics card in Device Manager, saw a yellow triangle next to it, in Properties, there was this error saying "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing."Code 39 {Path not found}, The path %hs does not exist. I uninstalled the drivers using DDU, and tried installing an older driver for my GPU. Didn't work. I unmounted one of my RAMs, didn't work. I formatted once again, didn't work. I did an extensive research on it, did what people said both on Microsoft site and the other sites. None of them worked.


The warranty service keeps telling me that there's nothing wrong with the motherboard and the GPU. They sent me a video of them testing them together, playing a game. My CPU is now in another warranty service, I am hoping that it is what causes the problem. I am a college student and doing things on my laptop is not as easy as they are on my PC. It has been two months and I don't even know what causes the problem. If you know anything regarding this, please help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ilya,

Please answer these questions to assist you better.

• Do you get same error codes in the Device manager too?
• Does this issue occurs in other hardware components like keyboard and mouse?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Do you get same error when you connect your extenal hard drive to a different computer running Windows 10?

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to check in Device Manager and check if you get the same error code. If yes follow link and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested under

+1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

Run SFC /SCANNOW

Report back.

 

BSOD error codes HELP!!!!!!

yeah, i did the chkdsk /r and passed it. I was not aware of needing to run sfc at the time as most everything i had found indicated Bad sectors as the cause. The codes are 2 separate codes. The system had had problems posting and the Mobo had previously been replaced. As soon as the Cx received the system he started getting the BSOD errors.
