  1. Code 43: an exercise in futility

    Specifically regarding the display driver.

I could also say it's stupid and pointless because I simply have to disable/enable the driver via Device Manager and the little yellow triangle disappears - and if I don’t reboot my ROG, say, for a month then the display functions perfectly for that month. But rebooting brings up code 43, and going through the ritual of disabling and re-enabling puts it right again.

Initially I thought it was a Nvidia issue, but after uninstalling Nvidia/rollback to the Windows driver I receive the same error. I’ve tried every conceivable thing save reinstalling Windows to eradicate the problem – registry, updating bios and chipset, system restore, image recovery, ‘error 43 fixer’ patch, Windows Update, troubleshooting… etc. So I’m not asking for advice. I’d just like to understand why a supposedly faulty driver is cured of its faults merely by re-enabling, yet it becomes ‘faulty’ again on reboot.

Clearly, there’s nothing wrong with the countless driver versions I’ve installed.

  3. An Exercise In frustration and futility

How is it possible to talk to a technician at Microsoft, which I will gladly pay to do, about the problem I have. Trying to do it by chat and typing is an exercise in frustration and futility. Is there a number I can call where I can talk to someone directly
without having to do it by remote control and typing? I am at my whit's end
