Windows 10: Code 56 appearing on all network adapters and "This app can't run on your PC"

This is the laptop model/specs, nothing in it changed:

As far as the code 56 goes - I've tried everything google can suggest and nothing fixed it.


1. Network reset

2. Refresh installkeeping files

3. Refresh installfull wipe

4. CHKDSK scan - went on for hours "fixing C:" but didn't fix it.

5. TroubleshootingNetwork Adapter, incoming connections

6. Downloading drivers from main pc to laptop and trying to install themtimed out everytime

7. Checking if it somehow had a VPNI've never used a VPN, couldn't find any

8. Using a wireless network adapteralso got code 56 but works fine on main PC

9. Disabling firewall, antivirus.

10. Booting into safe mode with internet

11. SFC scan -it found corruption but couldn't fix it. It's always had these "corruptions" because it's an old laptop.

12. NOTHING in the "Network Connections" folder.


How this happened was: Over the last few months the laptop has gone into a reboot with scan which promptly made it unable to boot into windows 10, at which point I did a "refresh install keeping files" and it would be ok again, except this time..it wasn't. There was no internet connection to be found, even after doing a refresh install full wipe back to fresh install.


Secondly: For a few weeks now I've gotten this error message every time I boot the laptop up, this happened even after the full wipe refresh install and I have no idea how to identify what app is causing the "This app can't run on your PC" message.

I just need this laptop to work a little while longer until I can afford a new one, unfortunately buying a new one isn't an option at the moment.

Network Adapter and Error code 0x800706bb

• Once you're done, restart your device.

If the issue still persists, follow the steps below:

To do this, follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters.
• Double-click on the device, and then click the Driver tab.
• Click Uninstall, then OK.

Download and install the latest version of network adapter driver on the manufacturer's website.

On the other hand, the error 0x800706bb occurs when some files on the system are missing. To resolve this concern you may follow the steps provided in this

Method 2: Download and install the latest firmware updates for the Network adapter

Follow these steps to un-install the drivers:

• On the search bar type “ Device Manager”
• On the left pane locate “Network Adapter” and expand by clicking on it
• Right on the “ Network driver” option and click “Uninstall’
• Download the latest Wireless network adapter driver setup file from the manufacturer’s website and install it.

This app can't run on this PC - Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter Wireless... doesnt work on this verion of Windows

As you have already re-installed latest drivers, do let us know if the drivers were compatible to Windows 10.

Method 2: I suggest you to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, install them in compatible mode and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall your network driver and try installing latest driver from the manufacturer’s website in compatibility mode.

To uninstall drivers, follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + x key on your keyboard.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters. Right-click on the device and click
  Uninstall.
• Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
