Windows 10: cofused help omg Stupid Reset

well here I sit on my tiny little laptop that belongs to my granddaughter..I do have my own laptop that I dearly like but looks like it may be going on to that (I messed up) place where PC go to after their owner makes mistake and cant get any support from one of the largest companies in the world...any how this is my story and possible cry for help!! I thought I might prefer google chrome to the Edge so I cominsed to download google on my pc well turns out that Edge worked much better on my PC so I decided to reset my PC to get google off..so I hit the reset key and went to bed. I got up early this morning to get on my news site and discovered that it was still updating and was at 82% so I went fixed me a bite to eat fed the dogs,chickens,ducks,turkeys and wild birds. I came back inside to discover my PC was still at 82% so smart old me decided to hit the power key when all crap broke loose and now on my screen of my PC is a choose a option continue, use a device, use another operating system, troubleshoot, turn off PC.. so I figured I better troubleshoot this issue so I could get on with my morning of reading my news websites. Nothing would work for me ...in despair I contacted customer support with my granddaughters little laptop...well I will tell you now save your time and nerves and don't even bother..they were not helpful or caring at all!! So here I am without my PC and no support to help!! JUST SAYING!!! If there does happen to be someone with some true care and concern with same problem please let me know..Thanks

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
