  1. Color of Drive Space Gauges on Tiled view of File Explorer

Is there a way I can change the color of the "almost full" drive space gauges in tile view of File Explorer to be the same blue (or even a slightly different blue) when Windows decides my space is low? The red is so annoying to me that I"m likely going to turn off tiles in favor of large icons just to avoid the offense to my eyes!

    :)

  2. External drive tile does not show drive capacity in win 10 file explorer

The problem cropped up when I turned on File History for my external USB Drive in Control Panel's Security & Maintenance section. I then turned it off because there was a message stating that File History had found files that were encrypted with
Encrypting File System on a network location, or on a drive that doesn't use the NTFS file system. From that point on the tile for said drive only shows the capacity gauge, but not how much free space is left. There is also a tiny picture icon in the bottom
left-hand corner of the tile. I presume that indicates that the drive is being used as a library location. How do I restore the information which tells me how much free space is still on the drive? Any insights that lead me to a solution will be greatly
    appreciated!

How do i find what space is available on my PC

    Hi Jim,

Open Windows File Explorer (folder icon on your Taskbar)

On the left click 'This PC'

On the View Ribbon, in the Layout Section, set view to Tiles

In the right hand pane you should then see your hard drive, the size of your hard drive and the free space

To get a detailed view of what is taking up space on your Hard Drive:

Windows Explorer is useless when it comes to working out where your hard drive space is being used . . .

Click the link below to download a small free utility called Treesize. Using that tool, you will instantly see where this space is being used

TreeSize Free - Quickly Scan Directory Sizes and Find Space Hogs

Once you have worked out where this space is being user, please let us know so we can advise on what is safe to remove . . .

No, not as far as I am aware. It appears to be hard-coded into explorer, as is the 10% limit at which it occurs.
