Windows 10: Colorful horizontal lines in camera

There are multi-coloured lines on my screen when I open the camera app, or when I use any other app like Zoom that uses the camera. I tried the troubleshooting options like restarting the device, uninstalling and re-installing the drivers, checking for updates, etc, but nothing works. There was no physical damage that happened to the laptop. The issue just popped up out of nowhere. Please help!

Camera screen shows horizontal lines

My camera shows the picture in the background and then the screen has horizontal lines and different colors on it. The screen I see reminds me of static. Can someone help? Thank you!

 

Camera/Webcam not working Techni-color horizontal lines

Hello,

I am hoping someone can assist me. After Windows updates, I realized that my webcam wasn't working while attempting to login to a webinar.

After, I checked the camera and I saw the screen fill of multi-colored horizontal lines running across the screen.

The first time I clicked it it, the lines went away. When I tried it again, the lines are there and wouldn't go away.

I welcome someone giving me a fix for the issue. Thanks.

How are you? Thanks for your response. It's very detailed and was easy to follow. I appreciate that.

I didn't see camera, so I had to go to imaging device. I updated the drivers, but was told the drivers were already updated.

I followed the other steps, then restarted the computer. Upon checking the camera and video, I realized I still had the problem: horizontal multi-color lines running across the screen with my image in the background, then they stopped, and I got a white screen, but couldn't see my image.

Here is the information for my computer:

"Version 10.0 .19043 Build 19043 Dell Inc."
