    COM port status notification


    Help for the Windows neophyte!

    I have a friend running a Windows 10 machine with a couple USB devices that appear under Device Manager as virtual COM port devices. Is there a Windows utility that will monitor COM port status and send an email or text notification on any changes? He’s had problems in the past with other machines disconnecting or randomly re-assigning ports.

    Intel Cor i5-3470 3.2GHz

    Windows 10 Pro, Version 1909, OS build 18363.1316

    Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

    Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

    I suggest you please follow the below steps and check if it helps:


    • Type notification on the search bar and click on
      notification & action settings.

    • And click on select which icons appear on the taskbar.

    • Turn on show app notification separately for each app.

    I appreciate the steps that you have done. I suggest you please follow the below steps and check if it helps:


    • Type notification on the search bar and click on
      notification & action settings.

    • And click on select which icons appear on the taskbar.
