  1. Comic Sans MS licensing question

I purchased outright not subscription Microsoft Office Student & Teacher Ed. 2003. I am using Word to write a children's book. I will use Comic Sans MS font for the Chapter headings. I will sell copies of the book. I will not sell the font itself. Can I use the font for free? Please answer Yes or No? The discussion by others thus far and not clear enough for me.

    :)

Comic Sans font appears jagged and ugly

A while back, the Comic Sans font began to appear jagged and ugly in Chrome and text editors such as Notepad. No other fonts appear to have any smoothing issues; only Comic Sans appeared to have visibly changed.

While the font looks ugly when used in Chrome and text editors, when I tried typing with Comic Sans in paint.net, it appeared perfectly fine—no jagged edges. It looked just like it did elsewhere before.

I screenshotted a comparison between Comic Sans in paint.net (how it should look) and Notepad (all ugly and jagged).

I'd heard Windows 10 had font issues, but I haven't found anything specifically on Comic Sans looking like this. Any idea how to make the font display properly?

Changed all fonts to Comic Sans MS, can't login anymore.

    Hello!

I have changed all fonts of my Windows 10 to Comic Sans MS.

Now, when I try to login, it fails. Also, the clock on the lock-screen shows something like on the following image:

    To be more specific:

    1. I start the PC
    2. I get the normal lock-screen
    3. When I click, the text (clock, ...) moves upwards, like normal
    4. The screen goes black
    5. Then briefly blue
    6. I'm at the lock-screen again

To change the fonts, all I did is to change all values in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts to "comic.ttf" and reboot.

    Thanks for your help!

    Comic Sans MS licensing question

Changed all fonts to Comic Sans MS, can't login anymore.

    Thank you,

the second link did the trick.

I was able to open up the registry editor and change back the font settings there.

After a reboot I was able to use my Windows again (only without Comic Sans MS as UI-font)
