Windows 10: Compact view doesn't work after Windows 11 05.2024 update

After the May 2024 Windows 11 update, my Explorer view went from compact to expanded. "Compact view" is checked in the >View options and in the property box. The computer is not in tablet mode. I have restarted Explorer several times and "Compact View" is checked after the restart but the Expanded View remains. I have not yet messed with the registry nor done a system restore. If those are the only options, I'll live with Expanded View. If anyone has any other ideas--please pass them on.ThanksRussell

Compact view not work

I extend laptop screen to second monitor by HDMI cable. When I disconnect the cable and "compact view"" doesn''t work anymore. When I connect again to HDMI cable, then""compact view"" work again. Please advise

 

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Compact view not work

Hello,

I am using Windows 11 Pro now. I mean when I connect to the monitor, "compact view"" works; when I disconnect to the monitor, ""compact view"" not work.

I can create local account and the problem is solved. But I want to use that old microsolf account to see if we can fix the problem.
