Windows 10: compatibilty mode

my computer was updated from windows 8 to 10 home ages and ages ago.


Have a design program which says only new features work only with windows 10, I have checked the version on my pc and all updates done and says am running windows 10 home, but if i check the programme with compatibility mode it comes up running on windows 8


What can be done??

From the above description, I understand you want to know if the software installed in Windows 7 can be installed and used on Windows 10 in compatibility mode.

You can run the previous version of software installed on the PC in compatibility mode. This option is available only if you have upgraded from the previous version of Windows to Windows 0 OS.

I suggest you to install the software in Compatibility mode by
following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Compatibility mode runs the program in the current version of Windows using the settings from previous version of Windows.

• Download the latest software setup file from the manufacturer’s website or locate the driver setup file of the previous operating system in your PC.
• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on properties.
• Click on the compatibility tab, check the box
  Run this program in compatibility mode for, select Windows 10 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
• Once the driver is installed in compatibility mode,
  restart the PC for the effective changes to take place.

Step 2: You can also follow the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard and type
  Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
• Select the top most search result and follow from step 2 from
  Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows (Also applies to Windows
  10).

Windows 10 Compatibilty issue

I suggest you to run the program inCompatibility mode and check if it helps.

Please follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Program
• Click on Properties
• Click on Compatibility tab
• Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
