Windows 10: completely reconfigured my new pc.

I bought a new pc and it arrived yesterday, my old pc had issues that i have spent a long time trying to fix and never could quite do it so I used it in a broken configuration that I have no idea what started it. Somehow someway even though I declined every single prompt I ever saw to sync my files with any of my accounts or anything my brand new clean windows and computer suddenly had my old registry and started throwing errors because IT STARTED TAKING MY ACTIVATION OF WHATEVER VERSION OF WINDOWS ITS TRYING TO CONFIGURE INTO THIS ONE its brand new day old and I am furious. wihtout any prompt

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Complete unrequested reconfiguration without warning on new computer

I just spent 2 hours waiting while windows carried out a complete un-requested reconfiguration without warning on my new (less than 6 weeks old) computer. This reconfiguration just cost me £180 and two hours of my work - where do I send the bill to Microsoft?

Thank you for updating on the status.

I suggest you to perform a Startup Repair by following the steps provided below:

• In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.

After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.
