    scam pop-up: "windows technical support 866-897-2718"

    Looking for information on removing a scam pop-up that says it is Microsoft Support and to call (866) 897-2718.

    Not totally positive it is windows 10 but want to get the question out there sooner than I will probably be able to ascertain the version.

    Almost certainly not.

    If the number popped up on your screen with a message like "error messages" or "computer is infected" it's definitely not a Microsoft number. Microsoft doesn't do that.
