That got rid of the Scarlet stuff, but the zip you uploaded is empty. Can you try again, maybe run DM_Log_collector as Administrator?

If that still doesn't give you a good zip file, zip up the most recent dump and upload it.

I tried it again and the zip file was empty. I went to the dump files and the latest dump was empty (size 0 KB). I got another BSOD after my last post, but it stayed stuck at 0% complete (it stayed stuck for an hour), so I had to turn it off. As a result, I got no dump file.

For now, I am going to back up the files I need. I might factory-reset the computer. Do you think that will solve the problem?

Did the computer come with Windows 10? If not a Factory reset may or may not work and if it does it will put you back to the previous OS version.

Better would be to do a clean install: Follow this tutorial: Windows 10 - Clean Install

I am a bit reluctant to do so at the moment; I will keep it as a last option. I got another BSOD. Dump file:

What power supply do you have and what wattage is it and how old?

I do wonder whether it is on its way out.

I need to open the PC to figure that out (I will get back to you later). It is as old as the PC (5-6 years). Any reason why you think this may be the issue?

Mainly because of the buzzing sound you mentioned. If it was a clicking sound, that would be one of the hard drives.

So, um... I have been using the computer for 2 weeks and no problem. I honestly have no idea why. I did not do anything special after the last BSOD.

I just wanted to thank you for your help *Smile

I thought the problem was solved , but it seems the issue has returned. I had a bunch of BSODs. So I reinstalled Windows and then the PC got another BSOD, turned off randomly 2 or 3 times, and froze once with a buzzing sound. I have the dump files attached for that one BSOD:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The attachment you made is invalid, what ever that means *Smile

Re-run DM)Log_collector and upload the zip file here.

That dump shows a single bit memory failure.

Also shows your PC is slightly under clocked. Check BIOS and set all clocking and voltages to default.
    Code: 2: kd> !sysinfo cpuspeed CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz" MaxSpeed: 3400 CurrentSpeed: 3392[/quote] Looks like you have 8GB of ram, 4 x 2GB DIMMs. Please test the ram.

    Information

Computer bsod, freezes, and turns off randomly [IMG]

    MemTest86+
is a diagnostic tool designed to test Random Access Memory (RAM) for faults. MemTest86+ will verify that:

    • RAM will accept and keep random patterns of data sent to it
    • There are no errors when different parts of memory try to interact
    • There are no conflicts between memory addresses

Memtest86+ runs from bootable media to isolate the RAM from the system, no other components are taken into account during the test.

Computer bsod, freezes, and turns off randomly [IMG]
    Warning
MemTest86+ needs to run for at least 8 passes to be anywhere near conclusive, anything less will not give a complete analysis of the RAM.

If you are asked to run MemTest86+ by a Ten Forums member make sure you run the full 8 passes for conclusive results. If you run less than 8 passes you will be asked to run it again.

    Note
MemTest86+ has been known to discover errors in RAM in later passes than the eighth pass. This is for information only; if you feel there is a definite problem with the RAM and 8 passes have shown no errors feel free to continue for longer.

Running 8 passes of MemTest86+ is a long and drawn out exercise and the more RAM you have the longer it will take. It's recommended to run MemTest86+ just before you go to bed and leave it overnight.

The infamous memtest... XD I will run it overnight and let you know what happens.

Also, how do I set all clocking and voltages to default?

    Thanks

I don't know about clocking and voltages, you'll have to look in your BIOS and see what's available.

Although I see you have a Dell XPS 8300 so I doubt there are any over clocking or voltage manipulation capabilities there. Not sure though so l

I ran it for 8 passes and got no errors.
