    Computer BSoDs while playing certain games.


    For a couple of weeks now, I've been getting BSoDs while playing some games and I can't seem to figure it out on my own. I have tried a couple of things to try and fix the issue but with no success, the reason for crashing has changed though, so either I fixed one issue, or my attempts to fix it caused this as a new issue. I have tried updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, checking for corrupted data, checking storage integrity, but after trying a few various methods, my computer ended up crashing completely and would not restart and had to restore. Sadly this did not stop the BSoDs, however

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    Please share the information requested below:

    • Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
    • Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

    I suggest you to update the Graphic Card drivers by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

    Hi Sumit

    Thanks for the solution but it BSOD again when I tried playing just now.

    I removed all Nvidia drivers with the DDU in safe mode and downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia.

    I'm attaching the latest dump file along my system info if that helps:

    Weird thing is that it only happens on certain games. I was playing another game (not really graphically intensive but still average) and it didn't BSOD at all for my playtime about 3 plus hours.

    BSOD when playing certain games

    I get BSOD's when playing certain games; Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Civilization VI, and Witcher 3. However, I don't get BSOD's when playing Crysis 3, or Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. The driver that's causing it is Hal.dll. My PSU is new, and I ran the windows memory test and it reported no errors. I'm at a loss. Crash file is attached.
